China’s ice and snow tourism is driving winter economic growth, with Heilongjiang Province recording 135.08 million visitors and ¥211.72 billion ($29.19 billion) in revenue during the 2024-25 season. Nationally, ice and snow tourism attracted 520 million visits, generating over ¥630 billion. Heilongjiang’s visa-free policy for China-Russia tourist groups boosted international arrivals by 103.9%, with spending surging 117.5%. These targeted initiatives highlight China’s commitment to enhancing its winter tourism sector and strengthening its position as a global winter destination.
