Historical Facts About Cairo

The history of Cairo started in 641 BC when Amr ibn Al-as conquered Egypt and he established a new capital known as Al-Fustat or what we call today Cairo. From that point onwards, the construction of the historical places in Cairo such as like the Mosque of Ahmed Ibn Tulane in 878 BC began.

In 970, the Fatimid dynasty was ruling in the region when a general named Jwahar established new city called Al Qahirah (Cairo). This city was crowned the capital of Egypt. The city also faced Black Death that resulted in countless deaths. Muhammad Ali Pasha of Ottoman empire opposed the accession by the French and founded the modern Egyptian state. How To Reach the Destination?

Flying is the best way to reach Cairo, especially when you are travelling from Asia, Europe or Latin America. Tourists can also reach Cairo via road or rail from neighboring but it is not a good idea since there is no direct route and you will need a lot of permissions and documents to cross the borders. Thus, majority of the tourists prefer flying directly to Cairo.
